To provide you said differentiation, we used an alternate 3rd party Java applet. Since the death of Java – for chat connection purposes anyway – chat2me has been in a steady decline. We have decided to, rather than frustrate chat2me users with redundant Java software on this site, to just scrap the whole idea and redirect everyone back to the (now Java-free) chat27.co.za site as of 1 July 2014.
Due to the above reasons, and Java posing a security risk anyway, we’re (almost) certain that this won’t pose any inconvenience. If however we’re mistaken and there ARE still a few users that manage to bypass the Java hurdles on here, please let us know in the comments below, and we might reconsider the situation.
In future, if we come up with another viable differentiation, we might resurrect the chat2me project. Your ideas are always welcome!
That’s it for now…
See you on the flip side!
